Nature Spun - 207 - Alpine Violet
A Natural ‘Spun’ky Classic
Kevin's mom, Yvonne, loves Brown Sheep's Nature Spun. She says it makes the best Swedish sweaters. "It's not so flimsy you can't see the stitches; it's really nice wool, and comes in lots of great colors," she says.
Yvonne (pronounced jah-VONE, the way it reads in Swedish), grew up in little Newman Grove, Nebraska. (Mitchell, home of Brown Sheep Co., is at the other side of the state; her Grandma Rose was from back there, near the Colorado line.) Back then, Newman Grove was a town of about 800 Swedes (and seven kinds of Lutheran churches—think Prairie Home Companion, Swedish style).
She's lived all around the world since then and still prefers this good Nebraska yarn. Anyway, we figure she knows what she's talking about when it comes to picking the best yarn for a Swedish sweater. We certainly can't argue with the results!
P.S. You can use the yarn for other things, too.

Put Up: 250 yards in a 100g pull out skein
